Expanding My Creative Journey

Hello you!

Welcome to my February art studio update. As you know, I moved into my art studio in November of last year, just down the hall from F1VEart Studio & Gallery.

In December, I found myself reflecting on how my new studio would play a role in my life. As usual, the new year in January was a time of contemplation as I considered the implications of creating in not just one, but two distinct spaces. The thought of balancing two studio practices brought up many questions. How could I ensure I was nurturing my artistic practice in both studios? Would I be able to keep a sense of continuity in my work, or would the transition between two studios disrupt my creative flow?

I realized the key to my creativity is in a philosophy I strive to embody in my daily life: the principle of living one day at a time. This approach encourages mindfulness and presence. It allows me to focus on the tasks and experiences of the current moment without becoming overwhelmed by the bigger picture. With this mindset, I could approach each day as a unique opportunity to explore and express my artistic vision, regardless of which studio I was in.

As I came to understand over the past few months, this approach is allowing me to cultivate a deeper connection with my art. Instead of rushing through projects or feeling the pressure of deadlines looming over me, I'm once again focusing on the joy of creation itself. Each day is an exploration, a chance to experiment with new techniques, ideas, and materials.

My art studio is not merely a physical space but a sanctuary for growth and self-discovery. Each moment spent in either studio is a meaningful part of my creative journey. I would say this step on my creative journey feels expansive.
